Wild Lemon

On a recent vacation, I was fortunate to be able to go walking through some amazing vegetable and fruit gardens. They were growing everything from leeks to purple cabbage to pears. I brought home lots of pears and these fantastic wild lemons.

They look a lot like an orange, but are incredibly small (about the size of a golf ball), and very very sour. In Tamil, we call them "kadarangai" and they are usually pickled with lots of spice and oil. Delicious.

This is my entry to this month's Click: Citrus. Straight from the tree to the pickling jar!

I did believe it was orange and wondering how you pickled it, until I read your post... Now I get it!

Those lemons sound so interesting and I love the idea of pickling them. I wonder if I could find the pickled version in my local Indian food store since I can't get the lemons here. I'll have to look into it the next time I go there. Thanks for the inspiration. :-)

i found these in Kodaikanal, which is about a 2 hour drive from Madurai.

Hi Everyone!

i have been trying to figure out a good place to start the acai berry free trial & was wanting to know if anyone had some thoughts on whether or not the stuff works to lose weight? So far this is the 1 article I have been able to come across that seemed realistic for what my goals are. Thoughts?
